Perma Facial Implants are made of soft, solid silicone, meaning that these implants cannot rupture, deflate or degrade. The implants are available in a range of diameters and lengths so that each of our patients gets a customized result. An implant can be placed in one lip or to augment both lips.
While it is called a "permanent" implant and is durable enough to last a lifetime, these implants are also designed to be easily removable. You can increase or decrease the size of your augmentation, or return to your original lip appearance.
The Procedure
Perma Facial Implants are placed during a routine procedure performed under local anesthetic. First, two small incisions are made at the corners of the mouth for each lip to be enhanced. Then, the implant is inserted through one side, positioned and centered before the incisions are closed with absorbable sutures. The procedure usually takes 30 minutes or less, with patients needing about a day away from their usual activities to rest and recover.
Swelling and tenderness of the lips is common for a short time after the procedure. Some patients also see light bruising. Aftereffects should resolve themselves within a week after the procedure, when you will be able to see the final results of your more beautiful and full lips.
